Comfort and Insight Through Books

Motherless Daughters: The Legacy of Loss by Hope Edelman
I found this book to be an incredibly hard read. I could barely get through three pages before I was crying too hard to read. For this reason, I recommend this book for any women out there that feel that they may be suppressing their grief. It speaks of the hardest parts of women losing their role model and guide through pregnancy, childbirth, relationships, etc. This is a must read for any women of any age who have lost their mother.

When Parents Die by Edward Myers
This short read is really helpful and specific to my situation. The book breaks down how different age groups deal with the death of their parents and the specific feelings and problems they encounter. There are a lot of personal accounts which helps in feeling that you are not alone.

I Wasn't Ready to Say Goodbye: Surviving, Coping and Healing After the Death of a Loved One by Brook Noel, Pamela D. Blair
This is one the first book that I read and I found it incredibly helpful. Different sections get really in depth and descriptive. I felt like it was speaking directly to me. I highly recommend this book.

Do you have any recommendations of books that have helped you along the way? Please share!
